Chris Mann "Roads" Album Review #Roads

You may remember Chris Mann from the The Voice. He was personally my favorite. I think he should have won.

As a finalist on the hit NBC television series “The Voice,” Chris Mann captured the hearts of millions while drawing the respect of multi-platinum talents such as Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo. Following one of his many dynamic live performances on the show, Aguilera told him, “I feel the heavens open up when you sing.” America agreed, and when the series ended, Chris had not one, but two songs on the iTunes Top 10 Pop Singles Chart.

Influenced by Pavarotti, Robbie Williams and vintage Sinatra, Chris’ blend of classically-trained tenor and contemporary pop vocals is a sound that’s rare in music today. Said Cee Lo, “He is by far one of the most incomparable vocalists I have ever heard.”

What a difference a year makes. Now Mann is signed to Faircraft/Universal Republic, a new label formed by renowned producer/music executive Ron Fair. He’s also releasing his major label debut, Roads, a bold re imagining of the classical-pop genre. The aptly-titled album represents the culmination of a long and challenging journey for this gifted and dedicated young artist, who’d been pushing forward against what had appeared to be overwhelming odds.

This classical crossover artist is set to release his full-length major label debut album on October 30.

I was fortunate enough to get a copy of Roads to review and I absolutely love it. His voice is so soothing and beautiful. I would compare him to Josh Groban in voice quality and such gorgeous range. Roads is my favorite song on the album, but they are all so great. I am happy to see that these reality shows really do help talent get noticed even if they don't win the show.
